Artist Bio
Katia Aoun Hage, who was born in Cameroon and was raised in Lebanon during the 1975 civil war, emigrated to the United States, where she now lives with her husband and three children. Music, poetry, writing, and painting fill her life. Her inner life has always served as a creative inspiration for her work as an artist, inspiring it with dreams, spiritual yearning, and a desire to feel connected to others through her relationships with her family, friends, nature, and locations. She pays close attention to the inner voices of her own people and herself, creating a link between the East and the West, and a safe space in which trauma can be released to tenderly touch the many scars that kept her guarded.
