Barry Cole was born and educated in Brooklyn, NY. In grade school, his teachers encouraged him to pursue art since his artistic ability was beginning to show in art class. At that time he discovered his musical ability, and it paid much better than painting. He never stopped painting but became a professional musician for the next 53 years.
