Anna Sparks was born in Seattle, WA, and studied photography and graphic design at Western Washington University, minoring in French. Upon graduating, she worked at Winston Wachter Fine Art, the Seattle Neighborhood Farmers Markets, and as a Waldorf School Art Teacher. In Seattle, she curated musical and art performances as a founding member of the Stay Happy Collective.
In 2016, she moved to NY to surround herself in the art and music culture where she landed a job at AIGA, the professional association for design. In New York, she met monthly at Soho Gallery with the Camera of the Month Club and displayed in several group shows. In late 2018, she experienced a sudden seizure and returned home to Seattle in September 2019 to undergo treatment. She made a full recovery and attributes this to her positive attitude, family and friends, and the beautiful PNW environment.
She received her 200-hour yoga teaching certificate through Seattle Yoga Arts in 2021, and in 2022, a User Experience Design certificate from the University of Washington. She has shown at Bainbridge Arts and Crafts Gallery and Gage Academy of Art in Washington, John Doe Gallery, TJ Studios, and Alterworks in New York. She has always made art a part of her job, and in addition to exhibiting her own fine art, is an arts administrator, providing event organization, development, marketing, and communication expertise to her communities.
