Artist Bio
Katy Bishop was born in Seattle, Washington, and lives in Los Angeles, California. Her early art education at Chicago's Art Institute on a high school scholarship began her pathway to use the arts to enhance others' lives and her own. After college graduation, she became part of creative teams, producing award-winning national TV commercials and independent films.
In 2021, Katy began showing her alcohol ink artworks publicly, exploring growth, change, and control, from abstraction to clarity.
Katy is included in the 15th edition of “International Contemporary Masters” publishing July 2023.
In June 2023, her artwork, TERRA FIRMA VII, will be part of the USA Exhibition at The 22nd Japan International Art Exchange at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum.
In the first quarter of 2023, Katy was honored with one solo in-person gallery exhibition at TAG Gallery, three juried in-person group exhibitions in Los Angeles and New York, and several online juried exhibitions.
In 2022, her work was in 5 in-person juried gallery exhibitions in Southern California plus numerous online groups and two solo exhibitions. Katy’s artworks received several Finalist, Special Merit, and Special Recognition awards.
Katy is a Member Artist of The TAG Gallery (Los Angeles) as well as The Los Angeles Art Association, the California Art League, and the International Association of Art – USA. Her artworks are in private collections from New York to California.
