I studied art in high school, at the University of Wisconsin, and at the Harrington School of Design. I've held a variety of jobs over the years and for twenty-five years I worked as a Registered Nurse at mental health facilities. Intermittently I have felt compelled to make art as my circumstances allowed. Lately, I have more time on my hands. I live and work in Chicago where I have a studio at the Greenleaf Art Center
Through my work, I try to clarify my views on world events and culture, while aspiring to irony and humor. I also seek joy in human absurdity. It's an egocentric exercise that's both therapeutic and entertaining. My art cheers me up though I make no claims for the impact of my art on others. New décor anyone?
I rely on traditional oil painting techniques and call my style "Nihilist Frivolity.
