I graduated from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, PA, with an Associate Degree in Fashion Illustration. I also received an Interior Design Certificate from Seton Hill College (now University), Greensburg, PA, while employed as a graphic designer, for over 18 years. Recently, I earned an Associate of Science Degree, with an Art Major, from Community College of Allegheny County, Pittsburgh, PA.
In addition to my work as a graphic designer, I also taught watercolor painting at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts and the University of Pittsburgh, Generations Together Program.
My art has been exhibited locally, nationally, and online. It is also included in several private collections. I am a member of a number of art organizations including the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh, the Fiberarts Guild of Pittsburgh, the International Society of Experimental Artists, the National League of American Pen Women, and the Pittsburgh Watercolor Society.
I mainly work intuitively, allowing my imagination to guide my artistic vision. Intense colors, as well as, design are important aspects of my work. I am also open to experimentation. I work in a variety of media including acrylic, collage, ink, and watercolor. My current concentration is in abstraction. In addition to painting, I also enjoy ceramics, fiber, and photography. Evidence of my appreciation of architecture and oriental art may also be seen in the creation of my art. Over the years, I have had the privilege of learning from many talented artists, and I have incorporated that knowledge into my own unique artistic expression.
