Jill’s art developed in junior high, when she began combining code symbols she had created with Ukrainian egg designs. Jill used these “doodles” as sketches for Psyanky eggs, but found she preferred drawing radial designs on flat surfaces. In 2014 she started her business, JES Designz, to focus on her artwork. Since then, JES Designz has been selected, and has attended, several juried arts and crafts show in New York State.
I am in my element when I have paper and pencil, and can doodle simple shapes to create a larger design. I enjoy seeing how small changes in lines, shapes, and color can alter the evolution of a design, taking a “doodle” and turning it into a geometric pattern. Recently I have expanded into collage work, by cutting up prints of my designs to create a whole new piece of art.
