Anthea Kerou - Artist Bio
Anthea is a lifelong artist. American-born artist of Greek and English descent. Her love of adventure and travel started early in childhood, and she has visited 28 countries…so far. Born in New Jersey, she has lived in New York City, Los Angeles, Madrid, England, Montreal, and now resides in her favorite all-time place: Palm Beach, Florida.
Moving to Florida in 2021 provided a restful, healing, and inspiring opportunity for Anthea to shift and refocus on creating art. For quite some time she had neglected her creative art and heart's desire. For the last 20 years, she has been a professional 3D character animator on feature films, commercials, and video games. And has worked on over 20 movies including Horton Hears a Who, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and Transformers 3. She has also taught animation at the most prestigious schools in the world such as Art Center Pasadena, Academy of Art San Francisco, AnimSchool.com, and AnimationMentor.com
But her learning and exploring do not end there. She is also a Certified Holistic Health Coach, food blogger, and vegan chef. She is committed to the health and personal growth in all aspects of life. She has created and held experiential transformational workshops and worked as a life coach. She has always been a lover of growth, development, and enhancing her spiritual path. This is a path that can never be mastered but is always challenging, exciting, and rewarding.
My fine artwork cannot be tied down or constrained because inspiration and experimentation abound. My unconventional approach allows inspiration and creativity to run free with no boundaries. My work ranges from abstract acrylic using ethereal textures and moods, to Augmented reality artwork using cutting-edge animation and technology, to collages that reunite the lost pieces searching for each other, to resin, to sculptural paintings which bring a 3-dimensional aspect to the flat canvas. There is so much to do, create, and explore, and new ideas are rapidly moving in.
I transform and transcend grief, and aloneness into beauty through art and self-expression.
My work consists of seemingly dichotomous concepts of purity and exotic, the sacred and the forgotten, wild expansion, and the attempt to capture and harness fleeting moments. How can all of these conflicting emotions and ideas co-exist together, yet they do?
Each piece consists of a unique energy signature that is transferred to the viewer. New levels of joy, love, abundance, sensuality, excitement, peace, and ascension will be able to be unlocked and accessed through this art.
