Christine Douglass

Artist Bio

Christine Douglass accidentally became an artist late in life. After her husband of 35 years passed away in 2004, she found herself in deep despair.

A year passed when she gave herself the assignment to find joy. She had no idea HOW she would do that. Since she had done a lot of drawing and some painting when she was young, and had a career as a decorator consultant, Christine realized she was very fulfilled when seeking a creative endeavor. With that thought, in late 2006, she enrolled in oil painting courses. She thought at best it would be a distraction, but it became so much more. She discovered she had talent.

After a few years she started to submit her artwork to juried art exhibits. Since then Christine has exhibited her oil paintings in many art shows and galleries throughout Southern California and has won some international awards. One painting even won FIRST PLACE in the 2017 City of Los Angeles Senior Art Exhibit! (And she is happy to report, she did find joy!).
