My piece is about Women's Oppression in our Modern society. I have learned about the social movements that have been done in the past, and I find it unbelievable that still, in these times, we have to fight for our rights. We all remember the Women's March on Washington in 2017. Now, it is 2024, and we are still fighting; in June 2022, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, opening the door for states to ban abortion outright. In the year since the decision, 14 states have made abortion illegal. This Self-Portrait about Women's Oppression shows the many aspects of our lives and how we try to do everything in a society that does not value our efforts.
