Artist Bio

Jocelyn Benford is an abstract watercolor artist. She began painting in 2020 and is primarily self-taught. What began as a Covid hobby has become a passion, and she recently retired early from teaching to devote herself full-time to making art. Jocelyn’s work has been selected for numerous online and brick-and-mortar gallery exhibitions, including recent shows at Established Gallery, 440 Gallery, and St. HROUDA in Brooklyn, and at First Street Gallery in Manhattan. In October of 2022, Jocelyn spent 2 weeks at Studio Faire, an arts residency in France, and she recently completed a stay-at-home residency with Artist Alliance Community, investigating alternative ways to mount and display watercolor paintings. Jocelyn has begun teaching online painting classes, and she maintains a robust Instagram account. Her work can be seen in collections in France, the UK, Hong Kong, Canada, New Zealand, and throughout the US.
