Artist Bio

Rebecca Gabriel is an Art Market Magazine Gold List Award Artist. She holds an MFA from UMass. Gabriel was interviewed for Art Market Magazine in 2020. She participated in the XII Florence Biennale in 2019, & has exhibited at the Schneider Museum of Art, Ashland, OR; Denver Art Museum, CO; De Cordova Museum, MA; Oakland Museum, CA; Herbert F. Johnson Museum, Cornell University, NY; etc. A retrospective was held at the Rogue Gallery, Medford, OR. Awards include First Award, Juror Henry Hopkins, “All California Art Exhibition”; Finalist in Artist’s Magazine; & Jurors Choice award in the “Human Form” exhibit, Newport Visual Art Center, OR.

Gabriel’s work was selected for the Executive Chairman’s office of the NEA in Washington, D. C. She is represented by Gallerie Karon, Ashland, OR; Verum Ultimum, Portland, OR; and Israeli Art Market.

Rebecca Gabriel’s published monograph, “A Woman’s Journey – A Life in Art,” has received critical acclaim. Art critic, Robert C. Morgan, writes, “Her ingenuity in perceiving her subjects…depends on an ability to understand painting as a language.”

Rebecca Gabriel has been awarded a University of Massachusetts Fellowship in Painting and a Haines Foundation Grant. Her work is featured in Art Market International, Calyx, Studio Visit, American Artwork, and World of Art MOMA Issue magazines.

Gabriel is a participating artist in the ISRAELI ART MARKET GROUP EXHIBITION 2020 and 2021, and was a contributing artist in the 2021 national juried exhibition, “PORTRAYED,” at the d’Art Center in Norfolk, Virginia. She is a featured artist in Biafarin and Gallerium’s online exhibitions: “Children-21”, “Emotions”, and “Chasing Ghosts VII” Verum Ultimum Art Gallery, Portland, OR, and Gallerium’s “Cancer 2022” exhibition. Gabriel’s work will be featured in the upcoming Gallerium exhibition “Femina,” and Diversia Gallery’s exhibit “Woman,” in conjunction with Woman’s History Month. 2023
