Artist Bio

Suzanne Johnson is an American figurative sculptor/ painter trained in a classical atelier in France. Nuanced emotions of inner resolve are embedded as a theme within her work. Suzanne’s artworks have been featured in numerous International galleries and group exhibitions, and permanent collections in Singapore, France, Hong Kong/ China, Mexico, and France. Her bronze sculptures range from life-size busts to monumental figures. The following are recent Monumental commissions.

in their respective permanent collections: “ A Veteran”, Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial, Angel Fire NM, the National Museum of Marine Corps., Quantico, Va. and The Bishop International Airport, “The Violinist”, Flint Institute of Music, “A Monument to Labor”, City of Flint Municipal Center, “Professor Bell”, Kettering University, Michigan, “Vivaldi’s Angels”, Monumental Bas Relief Stone Panels for the Chapel of Angels, Michigan. Suzanne's current sculpture commission is a life-size bronze sculpture of “Major General George Owen Squire, WWI an inventor”. Johnson’s Paintings have had the distinction of appearing in collectors exhibitions amongst such notable artists as Cindy Sherman, David Hockney, Keith Haring, and the work of the late Edward Steichen, a photographer. Suzanne is a member of the National Sculpture Society, the Sculptors Society for the Public Arts, The Portrait Society of America, the Allied Artists of America, The American Artists Professional League, and American Women Artists.
