Artist Bio

Susan D’Amato is a visual artist whose work focuses on contemporary drawing practice. She is the recipient of national and international awards and has exhibited her work across the United States and internationally. Her drawings are in the curated registry of The Drawing Center, New York, NY, and were included in The Drawing Center’s LineAge; fall selections 2005 exhibition and featured in its accompanying publication, Drawing Papers 55. In 2005 she received a New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship in Drawing and the Mid-Atlantic Arts Fellowship in Drawing/Works on Paper. Her work has been supported by numerous residency fellowships including Yaddo, The Helene Wurlitzer Foundation, The Sitka Center for Art and Ecology, The Ragdale Foundation, The Millay Colony, and The Virginia Center for the Creative Arts among others, and has been awarded and published in national and international exhibitions, journals, periodicals, drawing texts, and gallery catalogs.
