Artist Bio

Jamie Stevens is a Seattle-based artist with over a decade of experience whose work is easily recognizable from her bold color use of a pop art-esque style. Typically working in acrylic, she also works in oil and watercolor and is prolific with pastels. Aside from the coffee shops she hung her work in on Bardstown Road, Jamie got her professional start at Tim Faulkner Art Gallery in Louisville, KY in June of 2014. Through Tim Faulkner Gallery, Jamie was able to participate in multiple group and solo exhibitions and was able to engrain herself in the Louisville art community with her murals being seen in businesses throughout the city. She began attending the Jefferson Community and Technical College Studio Art Program in the fall of 2015 where she learned how to paint with oil.

Jamie relocated to Seattle, WA in October of 2019. In order to keep herself afloat during the pandemic, she put her personal art on hold and began taking on commissioned work. After a brief period of struggle and self-reflection following the pandemic, Jamie decided to focus her full attention on not just creating art but also on putting herself out there in a new place. Her work began taking on a new, bolder identity as she challenged herself to create every day. She has since participated in many exhibitions, hung her work in multiple galleries throughout the greater Seattle Area, and ambitiously hosted and participated in her own art and music festival.

Jamie's work is constantly evolving, taking on new forms through life experiences. She is heavily influenced by the world around her, the good and the bad, the beautiful and the ugly, the exciting and the mundane. Jamie's work is intended to be thought-provoking, leaving more questions than answers.
