Artist Bio

I make work on-site, in places where community interaction and cooperation happen. This includes community gardens, parks, and residential areas. I create catalogs of onsite collages. Then I spend time in the studio making quilts, textile paintings, and soft sculptures referencing the collages. Then I create interactive works mainly, interactive soft sculpture installations. Viewers create their own landscapes with soft sculptures, arranging their own compositions. The work encourages play, accessibility, and joy, something that I feel the art world could have more of.

My professional experience includes working with multiple GSO entities to design curriculums and teach art. I’ve had fun at the Artist Bloc’s glow party, and volunteering for Darlene McClinton in painting murals in downtown Greensboro. I was a performer in Stacy Kirby’s Bureau of Personal Belonging. I’ve also interned at multiple Gallery spaces in Greensboro. Currently, I am the Art Preparator at Guilford College.
