Artist Bio
Catherine rediscovered her passion for painting 15 years ago, seeking solace after major life changes. Initially focusing on drawing classes, she eventually embraced painting at the encouragement of mentors. Despite initial hesitance, she found profound joy in the process, reminiscent of her college art days. Through dedication and connections with local artists, she honed her skills, transitioning between plein-air painting and studio work. Exhibiting her art since 2011, Catherine's bold use of color reflects her deep childhood connection to creativity, something she witnessed in both of her parents. Born in Vancouver and now based in New Jersey, she runs a dog boarding business while pursuing her art, drawing inspiration from many of the masters and she loves the Fauvists. Her goal? To create artworks that captivate viewers and connect them to something beyond the surface.
