Anton Veenstra

My background is in tapestry weaving. Currently, my work involves embroidery over shaped pieces of wire with multicolored electric wire and stupas of buttons to indicate eyes, and consciousness. Using these materials is deliberate as it carries my insight into the alienation of virtual culture. The data cables have up to four colors, contributing to a hectic visual that borrows from the work of Bridget Riley.
