Artist Bio

Pete has gained major acknowledgment in the art world of Australia and overseas, being recognized with Signatory Membership of Artists For Conservation Canada, the Society of Animal Artists USA, The Colored Pencil Society of America, and The Australian Guild of Realist Artists. Some of her major awards include Best in Show Wildlife Artists Society of Australasia; commission with Australia Post; Australia Day Award for Services to Art; Best in Show Cairns Art Society 3 years, amongst many other awards. Internationally her work has been accepted by juries for Birds in Art USA,( 8 times) Society of Animal Artists USA, Artists for Conservation Canada(9 times); Colored Pencil Society of America, and Artists Info UK, and has been published in Strokes of Genius USA, Richeson Bird, Animal and Wildlife Art, Australian Geo Art Calendar and cover designs for Australian Veterinary Journals among others.

In 2015 she was invited as Guest Artist to the inaugural International Bird Festival in Uttar Pradesh, India where she presented work to the Chief Minister. Recently her work is among that featured in Feather and Brush: a History of Australian Bird Art (2nd Edition ) written by Dr. Penny Olsen and published by CSIRO.

Enjoying traveling to the wilderness areas of the world to research material for her art specializing in wildlife and the environment, Pete has visited many of the conservation projects in these remote places and is happy to donate artwork to them for their promotion and fundraising.

Places such as the Jane Goodall Foundation in Uganda, Polar Bears International, in Canada, The Tiger Project in India, and The Loro Parque Parrot Foundation in Tenerife. Closer to home, Dingo Discovery.

Her work hangs proudly in Governmental, Municipal, Corporate, and private collections in Australia, India, China, the USA, and the UK among others, and new works are sought after by faithful collectors.
