Hallee Palermo is an oil painter based out of Valley City, a small town close to Cleveland. Her works are representational based on nature and her surroundings but with abstract forms. She works in her family’s 19th-century barn that is on the property that she shares with her husband and 3 kids. She also teaches high school art and photography. Hallee has a BFA from Cleveland State University in drawing. All paintings start with a drawing but painting is her true way to express her ideas. She has work commissioned in over 10 states.
My work is inspired by the life around me. I take influence from nature and the lives I interact with on a daily basis. I take my own references or choose my reference pics for commissions. I hope my work creates interest in how I play with light and shadow. I’m influenced by representational work as well as pop art colors, especially Hopper and Katz.
