Artist Bio

As a recent college graduate, I have embarked on a journey of artistic exploration fueled by a lifelong passion for creativity. My name is Ayantu Audrey, and I am a multimedia artist specializing in the dynamic interplay of fabric, plaster, and acrylic. Born from a yearning to express myself authentically, my artistry is a testament to the transformative power of texture, color, and form.

I was born in Ethiopia and when I was seven I remember making colors using wild flowers and pressing them in my school notebooks. I didn’t have access to any art supplies, at that age I didn’t even know that art was a thing. I was just a curious little girl playing around with flowers in my notebook and creating mud figurines of my family members.

From an early age, art has been my steadfast companion, a source of solace and inspiration in times of joy and uncertainty alike. It is through my studies and experiences in college that I honed my skills and cultivated a deeper understanding of my craft. With each brushstroke and sculptural gesture, I discovered new avenues for self-expression, each piece a testament to the evolving tapestry of my imagination.

Now, as a full-time artist, I am committed to pursuing my passion with unwavering dedication and enthusiasm. Each day presents a new opportunity for growth and discovery, as I continue to push the boundaries of my creativity and expand the horizons of my artistic vision. Through my work, I strive to evoke emotion, spark conversation, and inspire others to embrace the beauty of the human experience.
